100 Butterfly, 50 Freestyle


Jenny Thompson is simply one of the best female swimmers in the history of the sport. A few of her accomplishments include:
  • Shares the record for most Olympic gold medals won by a woman (five).
  • At the Pan Pacific Championships in 1999, she broke Mary T. Meagher's 18-year-old world record in the 100-meter butterfly, the second-oldest world record in the books.
  • Holds world record in the 100-meter butterfly, 50-meter butterfly and 100-meter individual medley
  • Holds American record in 100-meter freestyle

In 2001, Jenny entered Columbia Medical School in New York City, and in the Fall of 2001, she joined Badger Swim Club.



Paola Duguet

Paola Duguet will be Badger's first international Olympian, competing for Columbia. At 16, Paola has already had a highly successful swimming career, including swimming at several US National Championship meets and having qualified for United States Olympic Trials.
